The safety control units allow you to connect and control various safety components for machines. The SF-C10 series is specially designed for connection and control of Panasonic light curtains, while the safety control unit SF-C21 can be used for all kind of safety devices like safety switches, emergency switches, enable grip switches, safety beam sensors, safety scanners, or safety light curtains.

The safety control unit SF-C21 can do the work of four safety relay units. Therefore, much less wiring is required. With its compact size (height 97 mm x width 45 mm), it can be installed even in narrow spaces. The status of the safety control unit can be monitored easily with a PLC. The SF-C21 provides four auxiliary semiconductor outputs (PNP). Other automation control devices such as PLCs, HMIs, etc. can monitor of the SF-C21 via RS485 communications (MODBUS RTU) and get information about the status, the selected logic, and possible errors. However, the SF-C21 cannot be controlled by an external device such as a PLC.
Users do not need any programming skills because the safety control unit SF-C21 is equipped with a preset logic. Simply turn the rotary switch to select one of the eight preset logics. They are safety-certified and compatible up to control category 4 PLe. For users wanting to create a reliable safety circuit, we recommend using our software Configurator SF-C. Again, you do not need any programming skills.
